- Dec 28, 2008 — Tree Down on Apartment Building
Volunteers from MCFD Stations 2 and 3 were alerted on Christmas Eve for a tree down on an apartment building at #12 Plantation Boulevard. Engines 21 and 31, along with BC-3 and C-2 arrived, confirming the dispatch. The building sustained minor damage to the 2nd floor and roof. Fortunately the occupants of the 2-story apartment were not home at the time, and were able to relocate overnight with friends. MCFD crews secured the area and returned to service within a few minutes. - Dec 17, 2008 — Signal 99 on Route 57
On Tuesday December 16th, 2008 at approximately 11:30pm, the volunteers from Moyers Corners were alerted to structure fire on Route 57 just north of Gaskin Road. Battalion Chief Crispin arrived first and reported heavy smoke coming from the structure. After seeing heavy fire in the attic area from the rear of the structure during his size-up, a Signal 99 was struck. - Dec 05, 2008 — 2009 MCFD Election Results

On Saturday November 29th, at approximately 650 am, Moyers Corners Battalion One was alerted to a Motor Vehicle Collision on Route 57 near Balboa Drive. Initial Reports indicated a car may have hit an electrical pole. Battalion 1 (Crispin) was first to arrive and indicated to incoming units that there was an entrapment. - Nov 12, 2008 — Reported Fire on Tommy's Trail
On Wednesday November 12th, at 1900hrs, the volunteers of the Moyers Corners Fire Department were alerted to a structure fire on Tommy's Trail in the Battalion 2 response area. On Wednesday, October 8, 2008 Moyers Corners Fire Department, Inc. were dispatched to a Signal 80 rollover on Route 31 in front of the Great Northern Mall. MCFD Battalion 2 [C. On Sunday August 24, 2008, The Moyers Corners Fire Dept welcomed eight Onondaga Community College student bunk-ins to their fire department. Two bunk-ins returned from the previous year to lead a group of six very eager first year students. On Sunday September 21st, at 4:20pm, a second alarm struck by the Clay Fire Department at a 180-year-old house located at 8481 Morgan Road brought crews from Moyers Corners to the scene. On Monday, September 15, 2008, Liverpool Fire was dispatched on a possible electrical problem on Thornwood Lane. During dispatch the alarm was upgraded to a structure fire due to the caller reporting flames and smoke in the residence. Liverpool Car 1 [T. MacCullum] assumed command on the two story wood frame with smoke showing. - Sep 12, 2008 — Vehicle Fire at Glen Crossing Plaza
On Friday September 12th at approximately 1230 pm, MCFD Stations 2 and 4 were alerted to a vehicle fire in front of Glen Crossing Plaza on Route 57. Battalion 2 [C. Fritz] responded along with Engine 41 [FF Watson] and Engine 22 [FF Gill]. Engine crews extinguished the fire and were back in service within 20 minutes. - Sep 10, 2008 — Daytime Crews Respond to Rt.481 Rollover
On Wednesday September 10th at approximately 12045 am, MCFD daytime crews were alerted to a vehicle rollover on Route 481 under the Route 31 overpass. Battalion 3 [E. Fritz] responded and established the incident command. Rescue 4 [FF Watson] arrived and discovered one patient lying in the roadway, apparently self-extricating herself after her vehicle came to a rest. Engine 22 [Lt. Normanly] and Engine 11 [Lt. On August 28, 2008 Moyers Corners Fire Department, Inc. responded Mutual Aid to Liverpool for a reported Basement Fire. LFD Car 1 [T. MacCollum] assumed command and MCFD Battalion 3 [E. Fritz] assumed the Basement Division after arriving at the same time. Engine 32 [P. Herrick] arrived first to bring in a hydrant and pull the initial 1 3/4" handline. Liverpool Car 2 [G. On Wednesday July 9th, at approximately 2330 hours, Fire Control alerted the North Syracuse Fire Department to a reported apartment fire at 419 S Main Street in the Village of North Syracuse. On Thursday June 26, at approximately 07:30 hours, the Moyers Corners Fire Department was dispatched to a possible fire at the Buckley Park Apartments. A Caller reported seeing fire through the roof. BC-2 (Command) arrived on-scene and confirmed fire through the roof at Building H. Engine 21 (LT. On Sunday June 22nd at approximately 2:30 pm, the volunteers of Moyers Corners were alerted to a Signal 80 Multiple Vehicle Rollover on Route 481 just north of Route 31. Car 3 (E. Stevens) arrived and notified units that one patient was trapped under the vehicle in the median. Moyers Corners Stations 2 and 4 were alerted to Signal 80 with possible entrapment Monday evening. Upon arrival, Battalion 1 Chief Crispin indicated that one patient would need extrication. Rescue 4 (S. Zaferakis) arrived and confirmed the minor extrication of one patient. Engine 22 (D. Izzo) assisted with scene safety and patient care. On Wednesday May 28, 2008 Liverpool High School once again sponsored a drinking and driving awareness incident for the students of the 2008 Senior class. Participating in the event were units from the Town of Clay Police Department, NOVA Ambulance, the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's office, the Onondaga County District Attorney's office, and the Moyers Corners Fire Department. - May 22, 2008 — Softball Team Starts Season With 2 Wins
The Moyers Corners softball team started the 2008 season with consecutive wins against Belgium Cold Springs FD and Solvay FD. Game 1 offensive highlights include home runs by Dan Stachurski, Steve Zaferakis, and Jered Zeppetello. Game 2 versus Solvay FD included home runs by Mike Zaferakis, Steve Zaferakis, and Joe Brown. Each student will receive an Associates Degree in the area of Fire Protection Technology.
