    Crews from Moyers Corners Fire Department spread a little holiday cheer in 2009 with the annual Santa Claus Detail in Battalion 1 and some caroling from the Wednesday overnight crew at Station 2.

  • Dec 23, 2009 — Engine 32 Assists Liverpool FD on Working Fire
    The morning started out with the daytime holiday party festivities at Moyers Corners Station 3. As crews were cleaning from the mornings festivities, the house tones sounded for a house fire in the Liverpool Fire District.

  • Dec 19, 2009 — Signal 80 Rollover on Wetzel Road
    Moyers Corners Station 4 and 2 were alerted to a vehicle rollover on Wetzel Road near Aurora Path. One person was reported to be trapped.

    The Moyers Corners Fire Department held their annual department elections on December 3rd, 2009.

  • Nov 22, 2009 — MCFD Bunk-Ins Featured on News 10 Now
    On Saturday November 21st, 2009, the Moyers Corners Fire Department Bunk-In Program was featured on News 10 Now.

  • Nov 17, 2009 — MCFD 1st Annual Pigskin Classic
    On Saturday, November 14, 2009 the members of Moyers Corners gathered to play in the 1st Annual Pigskin Classic Football game. In all, 32 members from all 4 Stations participated with Battalion 1 taking the Championship over the newly created (for 2010) Battalion 2.

  • Nov 08, 2009 — Rescue 4 Extricates 1 on Soule Road
    MCFD Rescue 4 extricated one patient on Soule Road Saturday night.

  • Oct 21, 2009 — Daytime Crews Respond to 4-Vehicle MVC
    On Monday October 19th, daytime crews from Moyers Corners responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision on Route 57 near Wetzel Road. Truck 2 [Capt. Brown] was out driver training in the area and responded.

  • Oct 15, 2009 — Battalion 1 Assists Belgium with Extrication on River Rd.
    On Wednesday October 15th at approximately 4 pm, Moyers Corners Rescue 4 was alerted to a reported rollover on River Road in the Belgium Cold Springs Fire District. Initial reports stated a person was trapped under the vehicle.

  • Sep 11, 2009 — Reported Fire on Deerfield Road
    MCFD daytime crews responded to a reported fire on Deerfield Road in the Battalion 2 response area. Battalion 3 Chief Dembowski arrived with smoke showing from the front of the structure.

  • Sep 05, 2009 — MCFD Welcomes the 2009 Fall Semester Bunk-Ins
    On Sunday August 30th, 2009, The Moyers Corners Fire Department welcomed eight Onondaga Community College student bunk-ins to the department. Four bunk-ins returned from the previous year to lead a group of four very eager first year students.

  • Aug 24, 2009 — E22 & E32 Run 2nd Alarm Fire to Liverpool
    Liverpool Fire Department, Moyers Corners Station Two(E22) and Baldwinsville Fire Department were dispatched to a reported commercial fire at the intersection of Long Branch Road and Route 370.

  • Aug 16, 2009 — Working Vacant Trailer Fire
    Moyers Corners Fire Department was alerted to a reported vacant mobile home fire. Battalion 1 [Crispin] arrived first with heavy fire showing, making the alarm a Signal 99.

  • Jul 27, 2009 — MCFD Battles Second Structure Fire Within a Week
    July 27th, 2009. The Moyers Corners Fire Department experienced a busy week in July with two working structure fires. The first residential fire was on July 22nd at approximately 10:30pm on Royal Meadow Drive in the Battalion 3 response area. The second fire was on July 27th in the Casual Estates Mobile Home Park in the Battalion 1 response area.

  • Jul 19, 2009 — MCFD Mourns the Loss of a Charter Member
    July 14th, 2009. The Moyers Corners Fire Department mourns the loss of a founding father and charter member of its department. Bill Arnold was instrumental in the creation and progression of the department. He held every position in the department besides Department Chief.

  • Jul 11, 2009 — Reported Fire on Mallard Path
    July 11th, 2009. 3:15pm. The Moyers Corners Fire Department was alerted to a reported structure fire on Mallard Path in the Battalion Two response area. Battalion 1 [Crispin] arrived with heavy smoke showing from the front of the residence.

  • Jul 07, 2009 — MCFD Extricates Two at Soule Road and Route 57
    July 7th, 2009. 0730am. Moyers Corners was alerted to a Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of Soule Road and Route 57. Initial reports indicated that there was a possible entrapment. Battalion One [Crispin] arrived and confirmed that report, stating that two patients in the white vehicle would need extrication.

    MCFD Assists Liverpool FD by sending Truck 2, Engine 32, and Engine 21 to Colorodo Mine Company Steakhouse Fire.

  • Jun 02, 2009 — Minor Fire on Foster Road
    The Moyers Corners Fire Department was alerted to a possible structure fire on Foster Road in the Station 4 response area.

  • May 27, 2009 — Past Chief Chet Fritz Honored.
    The Onondaga County Volunteer Firefighter's Association presented Chief Fritz with the "First Pitch Award" Tuesday night.

  • May 06, 2009 — Past MCFD Bunk-In Completes Academy
    Past MCFD Bunk-In Student Andy Brown, a 2008 graduate of Onondaga Community College, recently completed Myrtle Beach Fire Department's 13 week academy. He will be working the "B" Shift at Myrtle Beach FD Station 1. Congratulations Andy!

  • May 04, 2009 — Explorer Receives DA's Award
    Zachary Paparo, member of MCFD's Explorer Post 209 was presented with the District Attorney Advisory Council's Youth Encouragement Award. The event was held on the On Center in downtown Syracuse.

  • Apr 20, 2009 — MCFD Puts New Ladder 1 In Service
    The Moyers Corners Fire Department recently took delivery of a 2008 Pierce 100 ft. Heavy Duty Aluminum Ladder Truck. This vehicle replaces the 1988 E-One Straight Tip Ladder 1. Members from all four stations went through extensive training this past weekend. The maiden voyage of new Ladder 1 was Sunday evening, responding to a smoke odor in Starbucks on Route 57.

  • Apr 15, 2009 — This Day In MCFD History...
    April 14th, 1995. Moyers Corners and Liverpool FD responded to a house fire on Aurora Path in the Battalion 2 response area. Crews were met with heavy fire coming from the garage, with extension into the house. Engine 21 was first due.

  • Mar 30, 2009 — Minor Fire on Princess Path
    Saturday March 28th, 2009. 9:30pm. The volunteers of Moyers Corners were alerted to a reported structure fire on Princess Path in the Battalion 1 response area. Car 3 [Stevens] arrived and reported heavy smoke from the C/D corner of the residence. Car 5 [S. Zaferakis] and Battalion 2 [Bressette] arrived moments later.

  • Mar 25, 2009 — Truck 2 Assists at Liverpool House Fire
    On Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 18:05 hours, Liverpool with mutual assistance from Moyers Corners Truck 2 and Baldwinsville as the RIT were dispatched for the reported house fire with a couple calls at 1204 Oswego Street in the Village of Liverpool (2 houses away from Liverpool Station 1).  Liverpool Car 4 arrived to find fire showing from the 2nd floor and declared a working fire (Signal 99).

  • Mar 21, 2009 — Reported Fire at Bayberry Plaza
    Saturday March 21st, 10:00am. The Moyers Corners Fire Department was alerted to a possible structure fire at the China Wong Restaurant at Bayberry Plaza in the Battalion 2 Response Area. Battalion 2 [Bressette] arrived first and indicated there was a heavy smoke condition in the restaurant.

  • Mar 20, 2009 — Battalion One Extricates One
    Thursday, March 19th, 11:15pm. Moyers Corners Stations 1 and 4 were alerted to a motor vehicle collision on Soule Road near Route 57. Initial reports indicated that a vehicle had struck a tree. Rescue 4 [Lt. Zaferakis] and Battalion 1 [Crispin] arrived within minutes of the dispatch.

  • Feb 26, 2009 — This Month In MCFD History...
    On February 10th 1983, crews from the Moyers Corners Fire Department rescued a 67 year old female that was trapped in a 35-foot deep well. On February 12, 1987, MCFD responded to a structure fire at the Brookwood Village Apartments on Avon Parkway. A worker had unintentionally started the fire while using a torch to unfreeze pipes. An aggressive interior attack and large trench cut by the truck company prevented the fire from spreading down the complex.

  • Feb 20, 2009 — February 2009 Firefighter's of the Month
    The February 2009 Firefighter's of the Month were announced at the monthly department business meeting. Service awards and a unit citation were also handed out at February's meeting.

  • Feb 04, 2009 — Daytime Crews Extrication 1 on Soule Rd.
    On Wednesday February 4th at approximately 3pm, Moyers Corners was alerted to a three vehicle Signal 80 on Soule Road at Burningtree. One patient was extricated.

  • Jan 19, 2009 — 61st Annual Installation Banquet
    On Saturday January 17th, the volunteers from Moyers Corners celebrated 61 years of service with their annual installation banquet. The event was held at the Holiday Inn on Electronics Parkway in Liverpool. Master of Ceremonies was Warren Darby, Undersheriff with the Ononondaga County Sheriff's Department. This year's banquet was dedicated to Moyers Corners Fire Department Charter Members Bill Arnold, Dick Dudley, and Edwin Melvin.

  • Jan 13, 2009 — MCFD E22 and TK2 to Liverpool House Fire
    On Monday, January 12, 2009 at 12:11 hours, Liverpool with mutual assistance from Moyers Corners (St. 2) and Baldwinsville (for the RIT) were dispatched for the house fire, fire from the front of the house at 123 Saltwell Rd.  Moyers Corners sent Engine 22 (second arriving engine) and Truck 2 (first arriving truck) on the assignment.
