Changes to RIT Box Assignments calls for Combined Training

Thursday, September 30th members from the Baldwinsville and Mattydale Fire Departments trained with MCFD. A recent Box Alarm Assignment change calls for Baldwinsville and Mattydale as the Rapid Intervention Teams (RIT) weekdays from 0600-1800. Baldwinsville FD will cover MCFD's Battalion 1, while Mattydale covers Battalions 2 & 3.

After 1800 hrs, MCFD will continue to have the third due Specialty Unit (Truck/Rescue) assigned to RIT. In addition, the above departments will be activated respectively for a secondary RIT on any Signal 99 notification during this time.

Crews reviewed MCFD policies concerning: Rapid Intervention Teams - RIT, Emergency Radio Communications and Operations for Engines and Truck Companies on structural assignments.

It was also a good opportunity for all to familiarize themselves with each others equipment and the locations in which the equipment is carried. We would like to thank Baldwinsville and Mattydale for being available for this training.
