The "Closing Act" for the Fall 2004-Winter 2005 Combined Rookie Training Program was a Firefighter Survival Course conducted on Saturday January 8, 2005 at the Town Of Clay Fire Training Tower.  This course teaches firefighters how to avoid getting into an emergency situation, and how to handle the situations if they should occur.  The class involves a short classroom presentation followed by intensive hands-on training to deal with the various situations that may present themselves at an emergency.

This session is the culmination of a NYS OFPC 28 session program that trains new recruits to be safe and effective firefighters in their respective departments.  The new recruits from the five departments that serve the Town of Clay are all trained together in one group at the Town Of Clay Fire Training Tower on Route 31.  Instruction is by New York State Certified instructors from the respective Town of Clay Fire Departments.

Firefighters attending are:  Brewerton FD: Justin Allen, Bill Bell, Casey Carr, Jason Stryker - Clay FD: Dan Hoover, Josh Perry - Moyers Corners FD:  Austin Leathers, Kevin Quinn, Matthew Snyder, Tasha Solano, Cody Thieme, Ryan Welch - North Syracuse FD:  Adam Hartman, James Tortorelli.
