MCFD Starts Softball Season With Win Over Liverpool

The Moyers Corners softball team opened the 2005 season Wednesday night with a 10-6 victory over arch rival Liverpool. Leading the way for the Corners at the plate were Mike Zaferakis (3 for 4), Hugh Wolf and Eric Houde. In addition, Houde in left field, Steve Zaferakis at shortstop and pitcher Ray Vanordan provided key defensive plays which helped in the victory. New additions to the team this year, Ed Goodson and Fred Sears both chipped in with key hits, Ed also making a great catch in right field robbing a 'Pool player of a probable home run.
Next game is Wednesday the 18th against Belgium Cold Springs at Lysander Town Park, Smokey Hollow Road.
