Rollover With Entrapment Sends One To The Hospital

On Friday, May 27th, at 2047 hours, Moyers Corners Stations 2 & 3 were activated for a Signal 80 - vehicle into a tree on Grampian Road at Gerviston Court. Fire Control advised responding units there were multiple calls received regarding: a vehicle rollover with entrapment, the possibility of an unconscious patient, and up to a total of four patients. Rescue 3 (Lt. Fritz) responded from the Station 1 area and special called Rescue 4 to assist.
Engine 22 (Lt. Belczak) arrived on location, assumed command and reported a vehicle on its roof with a conscious patient to extricate. The crew from Engine 22 pulled a 1 3/4 handline, provided patient care and initial vehicle stabilization. The crews from Rescue 3 and Rescue 4 (Capt. Crispin) worked together to stabilize the vehicle and successfully extricate the patient. Engine 32 (Lt. Goldberg) responded to supplement the crew from Rescue 3. Car 2 (D/C Zaferakis) arrived and took over the command. Safety was then assigned to Lt. Belczak. B/C 2 (S. Race) assisted the command staff. Rescue 3 (Lt. Fritz) had Operations.
Due to an extended extrication, Command activated Station 1 for an Engine to standby at Station 4. A second Engine was also on standby at Station 2. The total extrication time was 33 mins.
