After several weeks of training and familiarization, the volunteers of Moyers Corners put the new Engine 11 in service on Sunday, June 26, 2005. The new Engine 11 is a 2005, Pierce Quantum Engine. The new engine consists of the following:
Pierce Quantum Chassis
1500 G.P.M. Hale QMAX Midship Pump
750 Gallon Poly Tank, New York Style
Detriot Diesel, Series 60 Engine
Jacobs Engine Brake
EVS 4000 Series Allison Transmission
5 Man Enclosed Cab (6th Rear Seat Removed for Custom EMS Cabinet).
LED Lighting Package (Rear Rotators)
On Monday, June 27, 2005, the volunteers of Moyers Corners were dispatched at 12:11 for the reported smoke in the structure at 3842 Hensill Court off Gaskin Road in the Battalion 1 first due area. After being in service for less than 24 hours, the new E-11 (Capt. Kenyon - OIC & FF Fedorich - Driver) received it's innaugural run and became first due at the incident. B/C 3 (Chief Chura) arrived with nothing showing, E-11 (Capt. Kenyon) assumed the Interior sector and investigated, while E-41 (Lt. Zeppetello) established the water supply via reverse lay. Interior reported that he had a smoke condition with light smoke coming from the wall in the area where workers had reported soldering pipes earlier. The area was exposed to find a small fire involving insulation where the pipes had conducted heat and subsequently ignited the insulation. Command held with a 2-1 response (MCFD E-11, E-41, & TK-2) and returned the mutual aid companies of Belgium Cold Springs, Baldwinsville, and Clay Fire Departments. All units went in-service at 13:09 hours.
