After victories over defending league champions Baldwinsville 1 (14-10) and stubborn Mattydale (12-6), the MCFD softball team now leads the league with an 8-0 record. Co-MVP candidates Steve Zaferakis (shortstop) and Ray VanOrdan (pitcher) combined for a 12 for 16 at the plate in the two victories, with Ray pitching an outstanding game against B'Ville and Zaf slamming a grand slam homer to break open the Mattydale game along with his stellar defense at shortstop.
Two games remain in the regular season, next week at North Syracuse and finishing at home against Hinsdale.
Come out and support the team, hope to see you there.
