On Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 0844 hours, the volunteers from all 4 Moyers Corners stations were dispatched for the structural collapse with a natural gas leak at 4483 Buckley Road in the Battalion 2 first due. Within minutes, Car 1 (Chief Bressette) arrived in the complex, assumed command and reported a structural collapse with a natural gas leak. E21 (Lt. Belczak) arrived shortly thereafter at the Buckley road entrance, coordinated a split lay which was picked up by E41 (Lt. Zeppetello) and laid a supply line up the driveway. E31 arrived and stood by at the nearest additional water supply. Meanwhile, TK2 (Lt. Izzo) and Rescue 4 (Capt. Crispin) arrived and secured all available (and cleared of snow) utilities to the collapsed structure. LD 1 (Capt Fedorich) staged at the scene. Units operated for approximately an hour and 20 minutes before returning to service. Units operating included E21, E41, E31, TK2, R4, LD1, Car 1, Car 2, BC1, and BC2. This is a reminder to all commercial and residential properties in our fire district, please ensure that all of your utilities (gas, electric, and water) are accessible and labeled for easy access and control by the fire dept.
