On Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 19:45 hours, the volunteers from Moyers Corners were dispatched to a reported fire in the living room at 3476 Horseshoe Island Road.  E21 (Lt. Belczak) responded from Morgan Rd. and Rt. 31 and laid in from the nearest hydrant to the scene. Upon arrival they found a working fire, with fire from Side A of the 1 story, wood frame, single family residence.

Also at this time, the lone occupant was found in the front yard and an ambulance was started for assistance.  The E21 crew advanced a 300’ 1.75 line through side B and made quick work of the fire involving several rooms.  BC 2 (BC Race) arrived and assumed command in front with BC 1 (BC Bailey) assuming interior duties.  While BC 2 was assuming command, the attack line from E21 blew in the front yard and an additional line was deployed by the driver and additional E21 crew.  E41 (Lt. Zeppetello) arrived, secured E21’s line, and stretched the back-up line.  Truck 2 arrived, assisted with ventilation and utilities while Ladder 1 (Lt. Perkins) took the RIT assignment.  Other responding units which included E31, R4 (FF Bittel), E11, R3, and E32 assisted with salvage, checking for extension, and overhaul.  BC3 (BC Chura) assisted command while Cars 1, 2, and 3 assisted with scene safety and operational duties.  The lone occupant was transported to the hospital for evaluation.  All Moyers Corners units cleared by 22:38 hours.
