The Moyers Corners Fire Department recently took delivery of a 2008 Pierce 100 ft. Heavy Duty Aluminum Ladder Truck. This vehicle replaces the 1988 E-One Straight Tip Ladder 1. Members from all four stations went through extensive training this past weekend. The maiden voyage of new Ladder 1 was Sunday evening, responding to a smoke odor in Starbucks on Route 57.

Training sessions were held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with Dave Neuber from Pierce Manufacturing. Paul Tyler from Tyler Fire Equipment assisted with the training exercises. Each day consisted of classroom and practical sessions giving the members an extensive and thorough review of the new Ladder 1. Captain Greg Shaffer and Ladder 1 Lieutenant Pete Klem conducted the driving sessions. The 2008 Pierce Ladder has a 100 ft. heavy duty aluminum ladder with a pre-piped waterway.

The membership of the Moyers Corners Fire Department would like to thank Dave Neuber and Paul Tyler for their time conducting each excellent training session. We would also like to thank Captain Greg Shaffer and the Ladder 1 Committee for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the process. The members of Station 1 should also be commended for their work in removing equipment from the 1988 Ladder 1 and helping with getting the new Ladder 1 in service.
