Explorer Receives DA's Award

The 41st District Attorney Advisory Council Annual Awards Luncheon was held on May 4th at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at OnCenter in downtown Syracuse. The following is the sequence of events from the ceremony:

- Welcome by Judy Wolf - DAAC President
- Star Spangled Bannder by Deputy Fred Perry
- Invocation by Father Dennis Hayes
- State of the District Attorney's Office by William J. Fitzpatrick
- Youth Encouragement Award to Zachary Paparo, speech by MCFD Lt. Steve Zaferakis
- Corporate Award to the Caputo Family - Sun Chevrolet for Givetoothers.com
- Community Service Award to John Balloni, Onondaga County 911
- Lifetime Achievement Award to Pete Alberty, Emergency Management Office
- Distinguished Service to Detective James Burns, Syracuse Police Department
- Medal of Gallentry to Officer Arthur Williams, Syracuse Police Department
- Scholarship Recipients Christopher MacRae and Marc Fricano.

Congratulations to Explorer Zachary Paparo on receiving the Youth Encouragement Award. In 2008, MCFD Explorer Christopher Goonan also received this award. Great job Explorer Post 209, keep up the exceptional work.
