At 0649hrs on Monday June 15th MCFD Truck 2 (Capt. Izzo) and E-32 were alerted as first due truck and second due engine on the commercial building fire at 1333 Buckley Rd in the Liverpool Fire District. Liverpool C-2 arrived with nothing evident from the exterior and assumed the command. MCFD C-2 arrived just ahead of Truck 2 and was assigned the interior. Truck 2 arrived and positioned side C, split into exterior and interior and went to work. Truck 2’s interior crew encountered a light smoke condition inside the single story restaurant with a burning odor. Liverpool E-2 had initially made an assessment of a roof top unit however conditions continued to deteriorate. Command struck the second alarm for manpower and MCFD E-32 (BC Dembowski) laid a supply line across Buckley road to Liverpool E-2. The second alarm brought MCFD E-21 (Capt. Brown) from station two to staging. Truck 2’s interior crew secured the power and began searching for concealed fire in the roof structure, while the exterior crew provided vertical ventilation. Truck 2 and Liverpool E-2 located a fire burning in the roof structure which was exposed and extinguished. MCFD E-21 provided overhaul and relief for the initial crews. MCFD units cleared at 0845hrs.
