Working Vacant Trailer Fire

Moyers Corners Fire Department was alerted to a reported vacant mobile home fire. Battalion 1 [Crispin] arrived first with heavy fire showing, making the alarm a Signal 99. Engine 41 [Lt. Beardsley] was first due. They laid in to a hydrant directly in front of the trailer and began protecting an exposed trailer approximately twenty feet from the fire. Belgium Cold Springs Engine 12 standing by at MCFD Station 1 was second due and began fire attack from the exterior, opposite side of Engine 41's crew. Rescue 4 [FF Filow] stretched an additional handline and also attacked the fire from the exterior. Battalion 2 [Bressette] handled the fire operations. Engine 21 [FF Rowland] and Engine 11 [Lt. Schweitzer] relieved initial crews and aided in fire suppression. Rescue 3 [Capt. Lyons] covered the RIT assignment. Other units assisting and operating on the scene were Liverpool Truck 2, Clay Engine, and NOVA Ambulance. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes and crews were in service in an hour and a half.
