E22 & E32 Run 2nd Alarm Fire to Liverpool

Monday, August 24, 2009, 00:15 hours.
Liverpool Fire Department, Moyers Corners Station Two (E22) and Baldwinsville Fire Department (RIT) were dispatched to a reported commercial fire at the intersection of Long Branch Road and Route 370. A caller indicated there was smoke and fire showing from the top window of Zorbas Restaurant. The first arriving Chief reported smoke showing from the vents on the east side of the building. Liverpool E6 arrived first, establishing their own water supply. MCFD E22 (Lt. Normanly) arrived within 5 minutes of dispatch as the initial supply line was being laid and positioned to establish the secondary water supply. Meanwhile, Liverpool command (Car 1- Chief Frani) declared the working fire and gave the signal 99 assignment. Command also requested an additional alarm which brought MCFD E32 (Capt. MJ Brown) to the scene. Liverpool and Moyers Corners crews worked aggressively to extinguish the fire located in the attic of the structure (as fire began to vent from the roof vent). Crews pulled multiple layers of ceilings to locate and extinguish the fire. The fire was declared under control within 25 minutes of dispatch.
