Signal 80 Rollover on Wetzel Road

Saturday December 19th, 2009. 3am.

Moyers Corners Station 4 and 2 were alerted to a vehicle rollover on Wetzel Road near Aurora Path. One person was reported to be trapped. Battalion 1 [Crispin] arrived first, confirmed that one person was trapped inside the vehicle, and reported that a 'heavy extrication' would be required. Car 3 [Stevens] arrived and established command. Rescue 4 [Lt. Zaferakis] arrived, shored the vehicle, and started the extrication. Engine 22 [Lt. Belczak] stretched a handline and provided scene safety. Extrication of one patient was completed by a full roof removal and partial steering wheel removal. The patient was packaged and delivered to an awaiting NOVA Ambulance stretcher. Total extrication time was 18 minutes.
