MVC on Route 57 at Provo Drive

Moyers Corners Stations 1 and 4 were alerted to a reported Signal 80 on Route 57 at Provo Drive. Initial reports indicated that one vehicle had an unconscious male patient, a semi-conscious female passenger, and an infant. Battalion 1 Chief Steve Zaferakis arrived within a minute and assessed the scene. He then communicated that extrication would be needed for an unconscious male and the infant. Battalion 1, Car 3, and crew members from Rescue 4 [Lt. Watson] and Engine 41 [FF Zaferakis] then rapidly extricated the male and the infant. Engine 11 [Lt. Schweitzer) provided scene safety with a charged hand-line, and also assisted the rescue company with patient packaging. Car 2 [Race] ran the command assignment. Car 5 [Capt. Lyons] also assisted on the scene. NOVA ambulances transported all patients , along with the assistance of a few emt's from MCFD Rescue 4. The female passenger and driver of the second vehicle were also packaged by Battalion 1 crews. The infant, mother, and driver of the second vehicle are reported to be in good condition, while the male patient is still in critical condition. The quick response by Moyers Corners Battalion 1 units aided in this very difficult and challenging call.
