Reported Fire at Taft Road Wegmans

Wednesday July 7th, 1620 hours.

Moyers Corners Fire Department was alerted to a reported fire at the Wegmans on Taft Road. Initial reports indicated there was a fire on the roof. Crews found a portable construction trailer filled with roofing materials on fire along the B/C side of the roof. There was a minor extension to a nearby HVAC unit. The fire was initially extinguished by Truck 2's master stream. Crews from Station 3 then finished the extinguishment with a handline. It took approximately ten minutes to extinguish the fire. Multiple companies from Moyers Corners worked in extreme outside temperatures (95 degrees) while crews from North Syracuse, Liverpool, and Mattydale assisted on the scene.
