Verizon Truck Rollover

August 17th, 2010. 4:30pm.

Moyers Corners FD was alerted to a motor vehicle collision on Route 57 in front of the Kwik Fill in the Battalion 2 response area. Initial reports indicated that a Verizon truck had rolled over on it's side with the driver still trapped in the vehicle. Car 5 [Capt. Zeppetello] called out first, followed by Battalion 1 [Zaferakis]. Car 5 reported to incoming units that a verizon boom truck was on it's side resting on a utility pole. He established command. Car 1 [Wisnowski] arrived next and the command was transferred. Battalion 1 handled the operations sector. Engine 22 [Capt. Driscoll] provided scene safety with a charged handline, assisted with patient care, and supplemented Rescue 4. Rescue 4 [FF Goodson] stabilized the truck with their Z-Mags and prepared for the extrication. After the vehicle and patient were stabilized, crew members from Engine 22 threw a roof ladder so the Rescue Company could fully remove the roof. Rescue 3 [Lt. Daloia] prepared to assist Rescue 4. Engine 11 was also on the scene to for manpower support. The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries and was extricated in 15 minutes.
